End of the West Pier?

From bad to worse? No sign of any redevelopment despite the calamitous collapse of Brighton's
West Pier in December 2002. Then, on Friday 28th March, almost certainly due to an arson attack,
 the seaward end of the pier caught fire. Despite prompt attendance of more than 40 firefighters,
 the distance from the shore made it impossible to extinguish the flames.
 The following pictures, taken on 15th April 2003 show what remains.
